Long time lurker here. Last summer I read about a technique that someone mentioned in a comment that I kept in the back of my mind. Last night I was hanging with a bunch of friends. This one HB9, who I've been attracted too for along time but never thought I'd have a chance, showed up to kick it with me and my friends. She has a habit of leaving her phone around and walking off without it. Last night I picked it up and put in my contact info and then sent myself a text saying "you should seriously consider meeting me for coffee sometime ;)" Later on, I texted her back with many playful teases and disqualifications. She gave me the date based on creativity. It seemed the technique almost worked too well.

tl;dr: got a date by asking myself with HB9's phone.
