I'm relatively new to this but I thought I would share some realisations that are helping me enjoy learning game.
I've genuinely stopped caring about the outcome, and started enjoying the process. I know this is hard, I struggled with this at first, but I was able to do this by picking a date in the future and realising that if I keep doing what I'm doing then by that date I will have a much higher chance of being successful. I realise this is kind of thinking about the outcome. But the point is that on night X, I'm training for night Y - so on night X I can just enjoy myself and practice some stuff. The funny thing is, and I've heard this millions of times, you actually get better outcomes and reactions whilst in this frame of mind.
I've stopped beating myself up. Every failed set is usually me doing something I thought would work but didn't. This obviously confuses me, I wouldn't of done it if I didn't think it would work. But here's the funny thing, as I keep reading I always come across something that explains my failure. So I don’t stress over a night when I don’t pull. Take my current sticking point, I am k-closing tons of girls, but I’m struggling with f-closing. I know I’ll figure this out like I’ve figured out other stuff, so it’s no big deal. Last night I spent way too much time with a girl who it was pretty obvious was never going to f-close, next time I know to be quicker to get out of a set. < This is one of about 4 things I learnt last night, the learning curve is so fucking steep early on! Finally, on this point, sometimes the circumstances just aren’t going to be in your favour. I was in a great frame of mind late last night, I was so confident I know I could of walked up to any girl and got her to come home with me, so I scanned the club and there was literally NOTHING on offer (either girls with bf’s or girls I knew or girls I just plain was not attracted to). I still had fun chatting to some people but I just didn’t have that bit of chance luck that was needed.
I look back on those nights not as nights I didn’t pull, but as nights I learnt tons of stuff and that have increased my chances for the next time. I have f-closed before I started studying game, I usually woke up the next morning thinking “that was awesome, but I have no idea how I done it! I hope it happens again”. Now when I wake up and I’ve usually learnt something new, I think “Next time, I have a higher chance of pulling” and I look forward to the next night out! In a way this is a better feeling than the former “I hope that happens again” feeling because the latter gives me a sense of control.
I guess what I’m realising is that this is fucking fun. And I’m so fucking grateful a community like this exists. What better hobby? And there is literally no hobby that if you persist at you can’t master. I’m excited that one day I’ll be a master of this. I would recommend having this outlook to anyone else starting out, and just enjoy getting there.
