So Im back home from college visiting an old friend. She has all these friends and introduces me to them. The conversation that goes on is usually about other people they know, parties happening, their school, local bar deals, etc. (stuff I dont know since Im visiting). This usually leaves me quiet until the topic changes to something more inclusive.

Have you guys ever dealt with this? Id want to change the topic but when 7+ people are really into it, it seems hard to change it unless it changes itself.
