Typically, the journalist cannot express this concept of pre-selection herself. She has no objective awareness of why women are attracted to men, just that she knows that she is more attracted to a man with an attractive partner than one without.

Nick Clegg is a reasonably attractive man with a very attractive wife (don’t you try to tell me that doesn’t make a difference, because it does).

Contrast this with men being attracted to women based mainly on their looks.

... the relationship between power and sex is a complicated one. Actual power doesn’t seem to be as much as an aphrodisiac as perceived power (ie what the media, or in the real world, your mates, are saying about someone).

Clearly, women are after something men are mainly not. Power & status. Men attain power and status for the benefits attached. e.g. women and free stuff.

She is almost textbook mystery method when she finishes her article, albeit tongue in cheek....

Popularity in press x attractiveness of wife x quality of suit , divided by actual power wielded.

By all means, if you want a girlfriend/one-nighter who is not necessarily good looking but is several rungs above you on the corporate ladder, take advice from women on matters of seduction. Otherwise, take their offerings in the context of what they are attracted to and who they are seducing.
