last night some kid came and ruined my set. he completely ruined my frame. i got too in my head trying to amog this guy when the answer was staring me in the face: ignore the dude entirely.

i blew myself out because i didn't rescue the girl from the situation; she DID NOT want to talk to him: she could not look less happy to be talking to somebody. i thought this was enough and that he would just get the hint and move on, so i started talking to the people next to me. i tried to let him fuck off on his own. i thought his humiliation would kick-in and one should never make this mistake. this kid personified "ploughing through."

to give you some context i opened her (hb8.5) with relative ease and she hit me with iois early on. a k-close/number close felt so imminent that my confidence became totally apparent in my interaction. it's actually pretty amazing how well women respond to confidence.

anyway, things were going well; i had built some rapport with her friends, i had social proof from some other women in the bar, and my wingman's a good-looking, non-creepy guy so all the stars were aligned so to speak.

i feel like this kid reads seddit because his game was totally obvious: leaning against the bar, talking over his shoulder, "ploughing through," the whole nine yards. he even 'talked some game' with me after the girl walked away. if it weren't happening to me i'd think it was hilarious.

he approached her from behind and tried to wedge himself in next to her at the bar. she couldn't have been less interested as it was written all over her face. he was also kind of scrawny looking and nubile. without a word i could've amog'd this guy on all fronts and that went straight to my head.

i just let him talk to her assuming that i was the clear choice, and that once he understood this he would just go away. he didn't.

he stayed in set and with each minute i started doing more and more desperate things. at one point i was literally pawing at him--like tugging on his shirt repeatedly. it was really pathetic and i don't even remember why i did it. something about the amog touching those he owns.

that's my fatal mistake: i gave the guy attention and actually bothered to try and amog him. i should have just completely tuned him out and spoke directly to the girl. i should not have tried to shame him out of the set since ultimately i gave him what he wanted by including him in my conversation. all i needed to do was talk directly to the girl and move her somewhere else. i should have 'rescued her.'

so this is just a reminder guys: ignore the competition. don't amog unless your girl is actually into him. ignore ignore ignore. do not assume he'll do 'the right thing' by feeling shame and fucking off; he won't. a set you open is a set you control: use this to your advantage. move her someplace else or completely ignore him. just look at her and talk like he's not even there. if he keeps trying to badger his way in, just keep talking and smile knowingly. she'll love you for it.
