Would you sneak in a church to get the benefit of practicing an instrument?

Pretty much the title says it. I was approached by a Baptist Church member and they look for someone to play guitar at their Church in the weekends. I am a beginner and this would make a good opportunity to try my skills. I do not care about what they preach, would just pretend like I do.
