You're over thinking it.

To close it off, I'm pretty confident when it comes to talking to girls so after I'm friends with her, I'm not too worried about that in the sense that I feel like I can become close friends with her. Whatever happens after that, happens.

You don't want this. If you're going in with a "hey-lets-be-friends" mindset then she will does that as well. You'll get friendzoned to the bone. Next time you see her in person just walk up to her and talk. Build some rapport to see if she's even in to you. If she is, ask her out. If she's not, move on.
