Unfortunately, if shes not accepting the request, there is nothing there, time to move on at that point. If it has not been a couple days then give it some time she might not be on facebook that often. Painting a picture of her will surely scare her off. Best idea: Wait it out. If no accepted friend request, move on. If she does accept it give it a few days try to get a group of friends (if you got them) to go do something casual, not a movie, go bowling or something along those lines. Once plans are set a couple days in advance, try saying hey to her and see if she says hey back, just mention that her sister is related to the family and you saw she was in the next city and you want to invite her to go bowling with you and some friends. Straightforwardness is the only way to go, if you bullshit around you give her time to think about you, which if you had met her once would be acceptable but you just have to act like hey we're all going out to have fun wanna come? If its a no, forget her. If yes, good luck. There is not much you can do with picking up girls on facebook alone.

You can only lose attraction through texting (Facebook), not create it.

Also, do not paint her because then you're already invested in her without her being invested in you. This also makes women feel as though you are bargaining for sex, like buying her a drink at a bar.

Ask your cousin if he can introduce you to her. You will need to make up an excuse for this, make sure its not based on knowing what she looks like.

Once you are introduced, acted surprised by how beautiful she is. Do not tell her she is beautiful, express it nonverbally. Talk to her about the excuse you used to meet her. At the end of this conversation, qualify her by saying "I was glad to meet you and talk to you about X (pause), you are really fun want to go out and do X?

Most importantly, do not apologize for friending her on Facebook. Do not apologize for anything. Do not bring it up. If she brings it up, treat it like a shit test.

The painting thing sounds like a very bad approach. It evokes an image of you obsessing over her, building a shrine to her in your living room. Kind of creepy.

I think the best approach at this point...and probably your only option, is just a simple direct approach. Send her a message explaining that you understand her not accepting a friend request from someone she doesn't know personally, but you ran across her on facebook, you have mutual connections, she seems like an interesting person and would she like to get to know you?

Games aren't going to work at this point because you're an anonymous internet stranger and her guard is up. You have to overcome that obstacle first. Just be straight forward. You have nothing to lose.

I'm a pretty good artist, good with painting. I've been thinking of doing a painting of her using a few photos i've seen of her on facebook, and then showing it to her. Would this be a good idea?
