Looking for advice on how to meet up with the locals to hang out.

If you want to know where the locals go, then ASK THEM. ("Hey, where do people do for fun around here?" Etc.)

When you are out and about during the day, regardless of the place, ask ANYone who looks like they might be in the kind of scene you're into. It doesn't matter if they're boys or girls, not if you're after information about where the locals go and what's fun to do.

Of course, if you see a candidate for "day game," then by all means, go for it.

And as far as your brother not being able to go with you and being away from your friends, going stag might feel difficult but it doesn't have to be. I actually have more fun when I start out stag, these days.
