Well, one of the basic principles game teaches us is that women, too, desire what they can't get get, which is why some of the more tactics / routine based PUA schools of thought tell you to be Alpha, don't treat them like a princess, etc etc.

Big surprise: This is true for all humans. We all desire what we can't have.

Why do I want women who reject me much more then women who want me?

It's ridiculously common for people to end up judging their self-worth in dating, by how hard they have to work to get at someone.

This is the basis for the famous Hard to Get tactic that's been famous throughout the ages.

I find women who reject me but continue to be friendly with me afterwords so much more attractive then other, pritier women, and I'm not sure why.

Women like to have friends, just like everyone else. Sometimes it's nice to have friends from the opposite sex because you don't have to deal with the same sorts of competitiveness that you have to deal with being around people of the same sex.

I always tell myself that I'm "in love", and while (since I would consider these people my friends) am I attracted to their personalities....

This sort of issue is common, and totally on you to address.

If you're hanging with someone who's just a friend, then you are the one who has to do the work to emotionally divest from them in order to actually be friends with them.

And if you wouldn't want to be friends with them, then don't. (Though being attracted to someone you wouldn't want to be friends with, is a pretty bad sign.)
