Tonight was the last night of my music festival, and I decided to spend time down at the southern end where I haven't been normally (you need to take a bus to that end). I got down there and listened to a band playing on stage in front of the cafe. Towards the back of the crowd there was a woman (about an HB6.5). I decided I would approach her. I waited for the band to finish their set. Most everyone got up and started to leave as well as her. I went up to her as she was leaving and here's how it went:

Me: That band was't bad, were they?

Her: They were okay, I was expecting something else.

And we kept walking, it felt like the conversation was over. We ended up walking the same direction and I remembered a line from this video used by "Derek" as he opened. As we kept walking i used it:

Me: Just so you know I'm not following you, we're just going the same way.

Her: Laughs

Me: I offer my hand as I introduce myself I'm SedditFR by the way.

Her: I'm X, nice to meet you.

We made some small talk, talked about some music she likes, then I said "I need to go, I'm meeting some friends on the other side. Are you going to be here later tonight?" She said yes and I ask for her number.

Now here's where things got awkward. I texted her at about 8 asking where she was and said we should get together. The plan I had in mind was it was going to be the two of us and we wold listen to some music, talk, and eventually watch the fireworks together at the end. I was on the northern end of the festival. I took the bus down and met up with her. I practically played musical chairs trying to find her. I got this message before I actually found her "Sorry omg my brother...I'm going to be by the big 39 sign by the food". My thoughts were "Wait...Her brother is with her?"

I finally met with her and it kind of went down hill for me from there. No kino the whole night, I barely even spoke to her. Her brother came off as a douche (he wasn't really though). We ended up relaxing around the main stage area, Boston was playing so we listened. I tried to leave to end this and maybe try to approach other people on the north side. I told her I had a family emergency and had to leave. I went to catch a bus and I missed the last one until 10:15, when the fireworks were finished. So I walked back and said the buses stopped running until the fireworks finished. We went back to doing the same thing, sat around and listened to the concert. Finally I said "I'm going to get something to eat". I still had a bunch of food tickets left over and I wanted to use them and try to get my money back in some way.

Half way there the concert finished and the fireworks started. I tried to walk back to find them but couldn't. I texted her saying I'll be waiting by the buses. I watched the fireworks from there, got a bus back, and grabbed a late dinner and went home. I haven't heard from her since.

I don't think I'm going to pursue her for two reasons:

  1. She lives out of state, she just came in for the festival

  2. The whole point of me doing these approaches over the past 10 days for the festival was to help me become more extroverted and more comfortable around people for when college starts back so I don't waste this year like last year. Numbers and such were bonuses if I actually got them.
