How to woo members on online dating sites

I started using eDating sites about a year ago. In that time I've gone out with about 22 individual women, had three very pleasant relationships, and learned a great deal about how these things work. So take my advice instead of this dumb girl's.

Don't look like you spend all of every day on the site. Don't respond to messages instantly. Don't seem keenly interested in her. Bumping your profile is a good idea, but not at the cost of looking like your life revolves around match.com. Bump it a couple times a week, not every day.
Your introductory message should communicate that you read the girl's profile, you are genuinely interested in knowing more about her, but you are not going to plan your day around corresponding with her. Say nothing about yourself. ASK HER A QUESTION. And not "Hey, wanna go out"--find something interesting in her profile that you genuinely want to know more about, and ask. You get two lines, tops.
You need clean pictures that show you in a variety of settings. One in the company of your many friends, one doing something intellectually stimulating, one showing how fun you are, etc etc. Your pictures are very important, because they will get more attention than anything you write.
Don't write a ton of stuff in your profile. Your profile should not look like you put hours of polish into it. It should have an air of casual excellence, if that makes sense--you spent half an hour on it, but it's entertaining because you are so inherently cool. Don't spend a lot of time listing favorite stuff. Tell interesting facts about the cool things you do, your many hobbies and activities. Give her something to ask you about, something she might actually be interested in--"Ask me about the time I was kidnapped by a clown" is way better than "I like the same movies everyone else does durrrr."
Move your communication off the dating site as soon as possible. Get her GMail address--this pretty much means you can IM her too. Arrange a date within a few days, and send playful text messages leading up to it. Don't communicate too much before the date, keep phone calls brief and to the point, but establish a rapport that doesn't rely on emails or instant messages. You don't want to feel like strangers when you meet up.
You are the man. You will pay for this date. You will tell her what you are doing, when you are doing it, and you know that she is going to have a wonderful time. Kiss her goodnight with utter confidence. You're not asking her to dig you: You're telling her she digs you.
