So I got pretty amped watching some field videos on seddit last night, namely the internet meme one's. I was reminded how easy it can be to open random strangers in the day. I sort of resolved to try it out today at lunch.

Background: I attend law school and it's situated near an undergrad campus. Most of the good places to eat are on the campus, so I went there to a nice sandwich shop.

As I head towards the line I am scoping out every possible girl I could open and I'm feeling a little AA. I get in line and right in front of me is a smoking asian girl, I'd say around an 8. I know I want to talk to her, but I'm a little afraid (and this might sound racist or strange) she might be - for lack of a better term- FOB-ish. Anyways, I use that as an excuse to not talk to her. I was planning on waiting for her to make her order so I could listen to her voice and screen for any accents. Really, though, I was just being a pussy.

Anyways, she makes her order and she definitely has an American accent, so no issue there. I then decide to man up and just make an innocuous comment about her sandwich, like what did you order? She responds with a smile and we talk about how awesome bacon is and shit. Nice little conversation about food preferences.

As our sandwiches are being made we keep talking and even start ignoring the people asking us what we want on our sandwiches, which I take as a good sign that she's getting invested in this conversation with me.

I get my sandwich first and sort of hang back before heading to the register and she and I pay simultaneously. I ask her if she wants to eat with me and she says yes. We sit down outside and have good conversation, keeping the talk of food going blah blah.

Then she asks for my name. I remember Wygant saying something to the effect of not asking for a girl's name, if she wants to know it she'll ask. So I'm stoked, we exchange names and we get into a little personal conversation. I drop that I'm in law school her eyes light up.

I knew the law school thing would be a great DHV especially to an undergrad. It's something I've been meaning to capitalize on more often but I'm so damn busy and I'm always around other law students so it never seems that special. Anyways, that leads to a whole conversation about that where I can pretty much talk with authority for a while.

Later her friend, who apparently she was meeting to have lunch with, shows up. I take this as a good sign, that she already had semi-lunch plans but still decided to eat with me. Her friend was cool and pretty much ate and studied while we keep chatting. Her friend's eyes lit up also as I mentioned I was in law school. Undergrads do dig this shit apparently.

A bit later, I realize that I don't want the conversation to dwindle away so I look at my phone and say I gotta go, and ask for her number so we could maybe meet up this weekend for this big city wide party we have in our town this weekend. She offers it right up and now I'm here.

I'm new to this whole day game thing and I'm not quite sure how I should follow up. Currently only I have her number, I told her I'd text so she'd have it, but I haven't yet. I wanted seddit's input on what I should say.

Also, I want to set up a date or something with her, and - again - I'm sort of new to the dating scene I've come off a series of LTRs. So what would be an appropriate date given these facts. And, there is a small problem that she's a sophomore, making her not 21, it's not too bad I'm only 23, but it cuts into a lot of our options - especially for this weekends festivities where I'll be bar hopping all weekend and she'll likely be house party hopping with her sorority.

Anyways, it was a blast to get out there and meet someone new. I highly recommend people watch the simplepickup dudes on youtube it sort of reinforces how receptive cute chicks can be to random conversations in the middle of the day.

Good luck.

UPDATE

After a nice free flowing text game - greatly assisted by a friend who apparently studies game - we talked all through out the night via texting. Some good flirty back and forth. I accidentally fucked it up and said we should go on a "date" which led her to say, Oh should have told you sooner but I have a BF. To which I sort of recovered by saying, "I didn't ask you if you had I BF, I asked you if you wanted to go out." She was still down and we did. Just got back from the little after noon hang out. Got some frozen yogurt and then walked around down town just talking. Got some decent kino in, some light punches and a few time quick massages on the shoulders (we had a little inside joke about her ever so slightly built shoulders, she used to swim). I wouldn't read into the shoulder kino too much.

I'd say I sort of blew it by not being aggressive enough. Her boyfriend never came up in conversation, nor was he ever alluded to. I know nothing about him or their relationship. I'm just going to more or less proceed like he's a non-factor. I know this is somewhat controversial on seddit. But I'm of the opinion that if he's worth her time she won't stray, and at this point, with our little mini-date she might as well be cheating on him. I'm doubting the integrity of their relationship.

I was somewhat planning on doing this "almost kiss" routine my friend told me about. The gist is, you say, "So have you ever heard of the almost kiss?" and she'll giggle, "no..." and you can then say, "okay we lean in and get as close to kissing as possible but not," then you stipulate by telling her to behave herself. So then you lean in and get close and hold. If she kisses, good, if not, bust it out later and say okay we're doing the almost kiss again. At some point the tension should rise to a point where a kiss will happen. That's the idea. I chickened out. I need to work on my escalation.

New good motto: Blow me or blow me out.

translation: go for the gold or die trying essentially.
