Right, this literally happened less than an hour ago as I was on the way to work. It's raining today, and Belgian public transport isn't used to it for some reason, so lots of delays. Waiting on the train station, I see a cute (HB7.5), short, red-haired girl smoking a cigarette. She's holding a newspaper in Dutch, so I ask her for one in Dutch. She gives me one. Conversation unfolds:

Me: Huh, this is [cigarette brand], never heard of that one.

Her: Yeah, it's one of the cheaper ones out there.

Me: Oh, I also generally smoke one of the cheaper kinds, [other cigarette brand name]

We go on and talk a bit about where she's going to (turns out she travels over two hours from where she lives to Antwerp, every day. Yikes! Long trips!), we discuss a bit how the Brussels area is always so terrible with public transport, then the train arrives. We get on, and the only seat available is the one where we sit in front of each other, with a table in between. Pleh!

The carriage we sit in is full of children (like 7-8 years old, hyperactive), and I'm generally good with kids, turns out she's got experience with them, too! We talk a bit about how it is to work with small kids, how funny they are, etc. Move on to talk about jobs and past jobs (tell a few funny stories from my last job), when I ask her my usual "What would your name be if you were a guy?" We have a good laugh about it, she comes up with Carlo and then introduces herself as Charlotte, so I change her name to Charlie - which is how some of her friends call her, apparently (good or bad thing?)

I try to #-close her, told her to give me her number so we can chill out in Brussels occasionally, and she says she isn't comfortable with giving guys her number because she's got a boyfriend and all, but then she added a shrug with a somewhat suggestive smile and said "But I don't know." I smiled and shrugged. "Indeed, who knows." There's kind of a spike in attraction there. She decides to write down her name in my phone so I'll add her later on Facebook.

We talk a bit more about basically nothing before I have to go. And thus I am here!
