In the world of sarging PUAs who neg and DHV in their pursuit of HB10s in spite of AMOGs in a struggle to break out of their AFC tendencies, there's no term more confused and confusing than "Alpha Male". There's nothing new about developing groups creating an ideal standard to compare themselves against. Religions of the world have their saints and arhats, Nietzsche had his overman, and Kierkegaard his Knight of Faith.
The unifying aspect of all these ideals is that the things they want to happen, happen.
The confusion in the seduction community arises out of a failure to clearly identify what it is we want, and to distinguish these desires from the strategy we employ to get them.
In the words of Miyamoto Musashi, "The primary thing when you take a sword in your hands is your intention to cut the enemy, whatever the means. Whenever you parry, hit, spring, strike or touch the enemy's cutting sword, you must cut the enemy in the same movement. It is essential to attain this. If you think only of hitting, springing, striking or touching the enemy, you will not be able actually to cut him. More than anything, you must be thinking of carrying your movement through to cutting him...You can win with a long weapon, and yet you can also win with a short weapon. In short, the Way of the Ichi school is the spirit of winning, whatever the weapon and whatever its size."
Negging, DHVs, getting "in state", being the "Alpha Male" all the things which sedditors aspire to learn or become are secondary - are the weapons which make take any form and which will, in your lifetime, become broken and unusable, or made obsolete by new techniques and new understandings of how things work, and therefore how to get what you want. If you're going out trying to be the Alpha Male instead of getting what you want, you're missing the point.
Some of seddit will advise you that when you're going out, you shouldn't set any expectations, so that if the night doesn't meet those expectations for reasons you can't control, you don't let it discourage you. This is nonsense for anyone except those that are willing to accept whatever their environment serves up at a whim. Getting what you want isn't about getting the closest thing to what you want that you can get within whatever limit you choose to set for yourself. If you wanna date runway girls and actresses, it's not your fault that when you realized that you were living in Kansas instead of LA. If you wanna date a brilliant woman who spends her days working out new mathematical theorems, you'd better find a way to get to Cambridge or Pasadena. If going out on whatever town you're in, to whatever club you want to go to isn't likely to result in the night you want it to be - it's not time to go out yet.
In practical terms - what you can do in the next minute, is figuring out what it is you actually want, not what it is you think will help you along the way. Stop asking whether some new idea you had is something and Alpha would do, or whether being an Alpha means this, that, or the other thing, and ask yourself whether what you're doing, whether what you're considering is going to get you what you want, where you wanna be, etc. If you can't answer that about what you're considering, you don't understand it well enough to be considering it.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
