She is uncomfortable because you are uncomfortable. The past is the past. Forget it. The only reason why she is acting like how she is is because she is shy and she realized that you were effected by her rejection. A real man would not take her rejection seriosely and act as if there is no problem.

However, she might be willing to give you a 2nd chance. Pretend like nothing happenened and continue talking to her. Be REALLY nice to her and also escalate. Lots of kino. Show her you are a great guy. Ask her out again too.

Also, if you asked her out and she coudln't make the date, its only natural for her to respond with another date she would be free. She did not do this, so I do not know if she was really interested in you to begin with.

At the end of the day, none of that matters. Act normally around her and ask her out. Hopefully it is not too awkward. If it is...it might be better to move on.
