I think your title is misleading..... it says the guys think the hotter girls are more sexually interested in them, but doesn't say they think chances are greater.

There was an OKC study that shows more attractive girls actually got less messages than some ok looking girls, because guys thought the hotties were out of their league but the avg. girls would be more likely to respond, so they totally avoid the hot girls.

Obviously online vs in person makes this different, along with whether they merely see the person in life or have a 5 min conversation like in the study. This study doesn't say anything about seeing a hot woman at a bar and thinking you have a higher chance with her, just that after a conversation with her and her avg friend you are more like to think she is interested than the friend.
