It's easy to be spot on when hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent to set up the conditions where an actor can deliver one line perfectly, and all the other actors react perfectly because that's what it says in the script. He might have needed dozens of takes to get it right.
Analyzing and emulating TV actors is why your game is screwed up. Life is not a scripted drama. Using actors as an ideal to emulate is a fantasy.

Look, I have been arguing this for a long time, and I have reason to know since I used to be a script doctor in Hollywood. If you want to do the male adult version of a little girl pretending she is a Disney princess, I can't stop you.
You say that if you play sports, you watch game tapes. But that's only intended to help you improve your performance at that same artificially constructed game scenario. It's not going to help you hustle for the subway. The equivalent would be actors watching films to help their acting.
Acting is an artificial construct that delivers through a specific medium that is completely detached from real life. Drawing conclusions on how to behave based on acting performances is a fantasy bordering on the delusional. Let me give you an example. I knew James Dean's agent. He told me how he helped Dean get that famous swagger that everyone thinks they should emulate. One day he told Dean to wear some tight jeans and come for a drive with him. They went out to an empty field, and then he made Dean push a bunch of gravel down his pants and around his balls, then walk around.
This is how Method Actors develop body language that works inside a square frame on a wall. If you want to be like James Dean, don't watch him projected on a wall or on a TV, go out and shove some gravel in your shorts. Then you can see what a stupid idea this is. You are not performing for a camera.
