So I'm not the greatest at approaching. Sometimes it's a funny question, or just "Hey" but after that if the girl is at all tense or awkward I lose my steam real quick. But not last night!

Last night I'm out at the bar with my buddy and his girlfriend playing some pool. A couple of very attractive girls dressed up in little black dresses (right?) sit on a couch by the table. A couple minutes later I totally mess up a shot and the cue goes bouncing off the table (I totally blame the table. Terrible table. ....) and then I hear the girls laughing.

I seriously doubt that they were laughing at me or even paying attention to us but I just whipped around and said very loudly "Don't laugh at me! Don't laugh at me." They look really confused, and I smile and do the "I'm watching you" gesture with my hand. They giggle. And that's it. I turn back around and keep playing but I make a point to laugh a little louder with my buddy and make big gestures, trying to just take up space, you know?

A few more minutes go by, I've seen them both talking to each other and looking over at me a lot. Then one of them gets up, walks over, and asks to play with us.

BOOM! I seemed funny and confident enough to have them approach me.

A little while later some of their guy friends come over (there are always the guy friends with girls like this) but one of them was actually pretty cool (doesn't happen a lot out here) so I talked and joked with him, essentially ignoring the girls but making small talk and jokes when they talk to me.

Pretty soon they have nicknames for me and are giving me flirty eyes and ask us to keep playing and yada yada.

Turns out I made nothing of it, because the blonde wasn't my type physically and later in the night I found out the only reason the brunette likes to travel is to see if other countries have better cocaine than what she finds here. What a shame, she was gorgeous and seemed fun but definitely not what I'm looking for.

So I have no idea how to replicate anything in this situation or exactly what I did right or if I just got lucky, but I learned if the occasion arises where you can get a girls attention without actually approaching her, capitalize on it and come across as interesting and intriguing, and you might have to do very little work to get a rapport going.
