[22M] It's my first time, so be gentle...

Quick back story: Up until a few months ago, I had been in and out of relationships since I was 15. This past August I got dumped on my ass and decided it was time to be single again, so after a few weeks of "getting over it" I decided to hit the bars again. I thought you all could benefit from this FR.

Setting:

College bar on a city campus, I'm out with a couple of friends after a night of bowling.

Girl 1

A friend introduces me to an HB6 (if we're being honest here) that he has known for a while. She's not exactly my type, but if I've learned anything on Seddit it's to escalate with everyone, if nothing else, it's good practice and there was definitely something that was attracting me. So we chat for a while at the bar, mainly about our majors and boring stuff, but the whole time I introduced some playful kino (touching her on the leg mainly). Luckily the bar was loud, so I had to lean in to hear her. At one point when I leaned in, I stayed an extra second longer and said, "Your hair smells amazing." To which she replies, "Thank you, you should by me a drink!" At this point, my old, compliant self almost caved, but in a last second display of self control, I said, "I'm sorry, you seem to have confused me with every other guy." She looked awfully surprised, especially when I turned away to talk to her friend. I admit, this could have backfired. As a HB6, it may have been better to stick with a 'nicer' routine, but oh well, if it works it works. After punishing her for a few minutes, I turned back, took her hand and said, "Let's dance." On the way there, I gave her hand a little squeeze and got one back. Boom, IOI! After dancing close for a bit, she kept bumping her nose on mine, so I came back with, "Am I going to keep getting eskimo kisses all night, or can I get a real one now?" K-close success. After that I told her that I really should get back to my buddies, but had a nice time with her. Then she offered up her number and I bounced. K-close, number close, success.

Girl 2

After feeling like a boss thanks to the good first conquest, I thought I could keep on a roll. So I had a few more drinks with my friends (which ended up being my downfall, keep reading) and hung out. Then, in walks in an HB9 that I have been seeing around in this bar and on campus, and we have made eye contact a few times before. With all the courage (both liquid and otherwise) pumping though me, I thought this was the perfect time to introduce myself. I thought wrong. First of all, I was MUCH drunker than I realized. This left me struggling to find the right words and create a coherent conversation. At this point, ordering at McDonald's would have been a challenge, meaning conversing with this stunning blonde was like diffusing a bomb in oven mitts. The other issue was she was with a friend who had a mean case of bitch-face, and didn't seem to want to be bothered. I don't have enough experience in this stuff yet to handle that situation, especially not in that state of mind. So after about two minutes of painfully awkward babble, I mumbled something about seeing my friends and ejected. Not my shining moment. However, I'm chalking it up as a great learning experience. If I could do it again, I would have not had so much to drink, or at least better known my limits. It would also be helpful to learn more about dealing with crappy friends, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to give a newbie some advice.

Conclusion

I hope that was helpful, or at least entertaining. It was my first, and I'm hoping not my last, so if you have any questions or comments I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
