My name is Mohamed. Shoul I use it?

I'm from Morocco, but I study in Austria. Austrian girls are already exceptionally withdrawn, but when I mention my name, I feel it even more.

Sometimes I use my name to my advantage, saying things like "MOHAMED, like the prophet. He was named after me" or "You don´t ercognize me? I'm quite famout. A few months ago, some Americans made a movie about me and Muslims went Gorillas."

I was Also thinking of just using a short version of my name, which my family uses (not my friends though, so it doesn´t sound natural to me), Simo.
