Honestly, the first text should happen when you GET her number.

I usually just slide the phone over to a girl with her name already inputted, she puts in her own number then I tell her to "text herself something that would work on her". So she'll send herself something flirty or whatever (compliance test passed btw), and then I'll DATE close. Agree to meet her on a particular day, and maybe reply to her flirty text with something like "See you Thursday", or maybe a little more playful than that, but not much.

The idea is ZERO ambiguitiy from right when you sever the initial interaction.

Girls forget you like 10 minutes after giving you their number, honestly. Unless you distinguished yourself in the initial interaction, whether or not she gets back to any initial text you send at this point is going to be mostly just luck, her mood at the time, etc.

At any rate, in your case, the first text should reference the first interaction. What did you talk about? Play it back for us.
