Bleh.

So I went out tonight, although I didn't plan to. (Exams soon.) It ended up being a fun night overall, but now I'm kind of annoyed. Here's why:

I went out with friends, ran into more friends, changed locations several times. So far so good. I didn't really meet anyone too interesting along the way; most conversations that I had were more or less carried by me. The girls seemed entertained and interested in what I had to say but I have better FWBs than this and I am picky.

I had a good night after all, had a lot of fun with my friends and everything was fine.

At 4 AM we decided to go home. I met this girl at the train station (she opened me) and we talked and joked around for around 10 minutes. She was really cute, turned out to be interesting and she was flirting with me. Now I don't know what it was -- if I was too drunk and tired, or if I rather wanted to have the validation in front of my friends instead of a possible rejection -- but when the train arrived I didn't ask for her number. I even hesitated for a millisecond and didn't do it.

I even had this scenario in mind when we left: "Maybe I'll meet someone cool at the train station." Fuck. After writing this I'm kind of pissed at myself right now.

Lessons:

  • In my life I never went home and thought "oh, I shouldn't have done something because it didn't work out." However, the feeling of regretting something you didn't do but you know you should have is the worst. Always keep that in mind and when you want to do something, DO IT. Even if you immediately overthink it. Your instinct was probably right.
  • Never call it a night too early, and be ready at all times :)
