Setting the scene: House party. About 50 people there throughout the night. Yet it was a big place so there was room to mingle and actually have conversations with people.
So that was what I did. I just talked to everyone with no objective other than having fun and meeting new people. I ended up meeting a lot of great guys and girls, and the night would have been awesome even if it hadn't ended with a girl.
That said, at one point I made eye contact with this girl (HB8) with beautiful blue eyes. You can't pass up on eyes like that, so without hesitation I went up and introduced myself. We talked for a while and I kept the conversation playful while getting at her interests.' The conversation itself was nothing special but the escalation was pretty unique.
It's going really well and I up the kino. I move closer so our bodies are practically touching then go in for the kiss. But when I start to go in she turns her head like she isn't interested. It was ambiguous enough where she might not have been trying to avoid it, so I didn't take it personal and continued as if it didn't happen.
We continue talking and I just keep doing what I'm good at. She takes out her phone for the first time in the conversation and I take it away to put in my number. She grabbed it back quick, but I said I needed it to put in some top secret information. As I'm doing this, she gets a text that read "you should go for that!". I laugh, I show her the text (she laughs and does that 'bashful smile, look down, look up, bite lip' move), I lead her to dance, and from there it was all down hill to the k-close.
The unique part here is if I had taken it as a sign of disinterest when she moved away from the kiss, my night certainly would've ended differently. Yet that would have not only been the wrong read, but it would have assuming the worst (which doesn't help in a situation like this). Letting the negatives get to you never helps.
'As a side note: I'm always amazed at how well conversations go when you just focus on the girl and take the topic off yourself. People love talking about themselves there is no way around that. But to get down to having those great conversations it's best to make a conscious effort to not talk about yourself. Be interested in the other person and they'll love you for it.
