This past weekend I went out with a two of my friends. I told them I've been giving this stuff more of a try (and had told them some # close success stories, which is what I've been primarily focused on). This is a little lengthy because there are three distinct stories but hey - this is where they belong. And apparently there's been a shrinking about of FRs on here, so a long one might be nice!

Very succinct TL;DR at the end. Thanks for reading - I'm having a great time out there and I'm happy there's a place to share it.

Part One: The Rejection

The first bar had a small area for dancing with a two-piece country/blues band playing. After my friends and I got our drinks, I noticed two HB8s dancing with each other.

My whole mantra has been not giving any fucks, so I went up to them and said "Do you really have to resort to dancing with each other like no guys have asked you to dance?"

They both thought this was entertaining, and I told them I would be happy to dance with them - and I got their names. And then the band stopped playing music! Wonderful. They were going on a fifteen minute break.

The girls said they would meet back here in 15 minutes. I said I don't know if I trust you (used her name and kino) since we just met. She said I was going to have to.

When I got back to my table my friend had openend on some really cute HB6 or so whose personality made her much cuter (she had a friend also) so we chatted with them for a while.

I watched out of the corner of my eye for the dance floor girls to head back out. They did. I waited a hot second and then went up.

They had a third girl with them, and as soon as I showed up, the girl I liked the most instantly tried to pawn me off to her friend, who then tried to pawn me off to the last friend, nobody danced, and it was over before it started.

They started dancing with each other again and I said something backhanded and then walked away. The end.

Lesson: Since I was in front of my friends, and have been doing well with interactions recently, I was a little pissed that it "didn't work." But then it occurred to me that every single thing isn't going to be a success, and there are more...nay, PLENTY of women at this bar.

Part 2: Overcoming AMOGs

When I got back from my lack of dancing my friends were talking to that HB6 and her friend. The 6 was actually very very adorable and was much better looking once we were chatting with her a lot.

Next to me were two HB8s who were talking to two AMOGs ( I couldn't tell yet if they were WITH them or if they were just being AMOGs). I overheard one of the girls (we'll call her Sally) say "Is that table empty?" I looked to where she indicated and there was a guy in it you could barely see. I reached through the AMOGs and told her that it was occupied. SHE touched me on the arm and said thanks and I said I was just trying to save her the embarrassment of her going over there and being awkward - we shared a laugh on that situation.

Over the course of the next 20 minutes or so I would look over at her and catch her glance and smile a little bit, pipe in a few comments to make her laugh, and eventually her and her friend were surrounded by like 4 or 5 huge AMOGs (I'm not a big guy - all of them were bigger than me).

My friends wanted to leave so I reached through again and took her hand and said, "my friends want to go so we're going to have to leave. I hope I see you around here again really soon."

She said the same and I got her name (Sally). Then I walked away and CURSED myself for not getting her phone number. And why? Because she was surrounded by AMOGs? No. Unacceptable.

One of them made a loud comment about something that I related to, and butted myself in. Sally of course wanted to hear my opinion and one of the other AMOG guys did too. I befriended him (learned that on here) and told all these other huge dudes to STFU while I said my piece. So basically Sally saw little ol' me (I'm not that short and yes I even lift but compared to these guys...) with all of these guys at my command.

Afterward I boxed out some AMOG and leaned in to Sally, took out my phone, and said "I promise I won't abuse your phone number but you seem like a really cool girl and it sucks that I have to leave." Or something to that affect.

She took my phone and put her number in, and I always make a joke about proof that it's hers so I call the number so she can prove that it's her phone. (I had maybe spent a net total of 5 minutes talking and being genuine with her).

So I got her number and my group left to go to another bar. A while later I texted asking how to spell her name (something I've done now a lot as well). She gave me the correct spelling and said "Ur Sweet :)" I let it simmer for a while and said "I'll see you soon."

Lesson: Grab the number when you think you have the moment to, befriend the AMOGs and they will actually help you somehow. (Is that legit? I don't want to give bad advice but it seemed to work for me.

Part Three: The Importance of Always Getting the Number

At our second and last bar of the evening, one of the bartender/waitresses was super super cute. My friend and I both wanted to talk to her somehow, mostly my friend.

We were sitting at a table near the restroom and some girl is about to go into the men's room and my other friend says "That's the men's!" and she thanks us. And then the waitress goes right into the bathroom too!

So my friend who likes her says we gotta talk to her when she comes out. He says "we'll do it like swingers - I'll just ask what time she gets off and invite her back to your place."

The almost-went-into-the-men's-room girl comes out first and we chat with her for some laughs. And then the waitress comes out and joins our conversation. The geography is such that it's pretty much just me talking to the waitress and she seemed quite interested. I asked her about her job, and the night, a little kino. After a few minutes she said she had to head back.

My friend said on our way out he was going to ask her to come back with us. So my other friend and I wait outside. He comes back and gets all dramatic: "boys, we have company tonight"

He said he asked her when she got off, she said 2, maybe a little later, and he said he invited her back. She said she'd come and bring a friend. And then he said there was a lull and he says "we'll just...I'll be outside." and she says okay.

He didn't get her number. The bar closed. We waited in the cold for 40 minutes and she never showed up.

Lesson: Get her fucking number. My friend really shines in texting (I know it's a hot button issue on here but somehow when he's texting girls it works out - he's done really well on okc recently). Since he didn't get her number, we totally lost out. (probably didn't help that it was daylight savings time and everything got bumped an hour later) I have to go back and find her - I remember her name.

TL;DR

-started well and got rejected on the dance floor. Learned to shrug it off.

-Broke through the AMOG clutter and got a number.

-Friend secured a waitress + friend invite back to my place but didn't get her number and it fell through.
