Being new to /r/seduction, I decided to open up a profile online to practice talking to people and try some of the things I learned. While I did put some techniques into play and learned a few things, I've made the decision to drop from the site, and here's why:

1: A lot of the girls are on there for a reason. There are life situations where online dating is great, like if you're crazy busy or new to an area. These aren't the girls I'm talking about. It's the girls who are there because they don't understand social skills, which is a surprising amount of them! They don't seem to be able to hold conversations and are all about one-word answers.

"But wait a minute, BSUPUA, maybe they just aren't that into you!"

That happens! But when, quite often, that girl I'm describing re-initiates conversations after I've stopped responding and tries to get me on a date, I don't think a lack of attraction is the issue. As a beginner, interacting with these girls will only teach me so much.

2: It'll never be the same as real life game. The idea of a dating site is to eventually start dating. Duh! But if you're trying to get better at pick-up or social skills in general, you lose a lot. You don't learn to open sets well or how to deal with AMOG's or anything at all about body language. Maybe that one date with the girl you met will help, but going out and opening a dozen or more sets will, too! Probably more, in my experience.

3: It's distracting. When you meet girls on a dating site and you don't get a chance to see them, you either have to communicate over the site or by text. After a while, it's like a different world develops with all these people on this site. If you get too involved with it, you stop talking to people on the streets, stop opening sets. Online dating should only supplement your day and night game, it should never replace it.

These are just based on the experiences I've had as someone who's trying to learn pick-up, not as someone who's on the site to find the love of his life. It's quite likely you've had different results. Please add any thoughts or comments.
