Is there anything special you should keep in mind while hitting on an ex's friend? My main concern is moving things to quickly. I feel as if it'd be best to gradually move into kino instead of making it clear right away.

In my case, I dated a girl a couple years back for half a year in high school. We weren't extremely close, but still had a good time. A little over a year has passed and I'm living at home commuting to the same college as her friend. I texted her friend and we've been on a couple "dates", but I'm not sure if I should take any precautions in making a move on her.

I'm a bit reluctant to be straight forward in my intentions, as I feel she may be off-put by the fact that I dated her friend in high school. I get the feeling that it would be best to take things slowly and avoid any strong kino. We get along really well, and we seem a bit flirty with each other, but my main question is whether there's anything special one should do when hitting on an ex's friend?
