So there have been a few posts in the past about this issue and every time we think the moderators will step up and make some changes as this subreddit gets larger. The other subreddits have responded to their growing userbase while seddit unfortunately has not. I think the moderators were doing a great job and I'm sure they still are but its starting to not be enough. I think they need to acknowledge that they need help to fix this place up.
Some changes that I feel are needed.
1) I think seddit needs to vote in a new moderator to help the ones we currently have. The ones we have are great, but I think they need help. They might not think so but the terrible shape this subreddit is in says otherwise. New blood will bring in new ideas, more resources, and more responses to the growing userbase.
2) Post quality has GONE WAY DOWN. Look i'm no PUA guru who knows everything about pick up and i'm not going to pretend like i do. The reason i don't make a ton of posts just patting people on the back is because it doesn't do much to help people. People are blindly upvoting bad advice, bad posts, pointless videos.
I can use the report function until i'm blue in my face but its not enough to curb the garbage content that still gets upvoted. We still get noobie questions on seddit. People just don't care that askseddit exists. I've been to askseddit and the quality of responses are sometimes better then here. PEOPLE NEED TO USE IT MORE...
3) Better use of the resources reddit provides... Look at other subreddits in how they organize themselves and use FLAIR to make things easier to find and read. The users have the ability to select the appropriate flair, and it could be filtered using the helpful menu on top. We dont have to make seddit so colorful but maybe add a bit more color to make things stick out better.
for an example see: http://www.reddit.com/r/howtonotgiveafuck
4) Automation - look we need some people with programming and scripting knowledge to make some bots that auto create posts. For example a really great post, was the TOP 20 posts of the month, which isn't that consistently created.
5) The sidebar needs updating, and organizing. We should have a wiki or something that is actually somewhat complete.
I don't have all the answers on how to fix this place, all i know is that something needs to change. These are just a few idea and thoughts that I have on the current state of SEDDIT.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
