My friends and I attended a rave in Las Vegas. It was my first time hearing about a rave such as this, however this was not my first rave entirely. However, I really felt like I grabbed a very, different experience.
Every rave I go to, I dance my heart out. I love dancing, shuffling, waves-- everything you could possible think of, I try to incorporate into my list of moves. People take notice, especially girls. And if I get them to smile, or have them dance next to me a little bit, it makes my experience so much more exciting. The only problem I feel like I have is that I'm very uncomfortable about "freaking", "grinding", etc etc. I'll explain the relevance of this a bit a little later.
Into the rave about an hour, dancing with my eyes closed, feeling the moment, this girl notices me. She looks at me with a great, amazing smile and asks, " Do you want gum ?". I already had come prepared because I know having gum is a great way to initiate conversations with strangers. But I was already chewing gum, and I really couldn't stop it there. So I improvised. I asked if she wanted to trade. As weird as it sounds to me, she happily obliged.
Soon after, I kept the conversation going. It's a bit fuzzy from what we talked about but from what I can remember, I just asked her name, where she was from, what brought her here, who she came with, etc etc. I felt like everything we were talking about was very natural, and all we did was smile, laugh and danced.
She brought LEDs you put on your fingers. Things you would use to give light shows. Stupid as I am, my gloves were back at home, broken. I have never given a light show to anyone, but I knew how. And I was fairly decent. I want to say that I gave her one but she was really nice to let me borrow them to give my friends light shows. And in return, I tried to teach it to her. It was very cute to see her try.
She told me she needed to get water with her friends. So she told me she would be right back. I went, " Do you have a phone number? Let me get your number." She gave me a weird look. She assured me that she would come back. I froze up. My thought process at the time was that, she let me borrow her LEDs to use for while, and my friends and I were thinking about moving to a different spot. But I froze up. All I could say was " Alright. " and smile. She eventually did come back.
From that moment on, we bounced to one another. I would watch over my group, making sure everyone was alright. And she would do the same to hers. Every time I moved to a slightly different spot, she would be there. Every time she moved, I would try to be next to her as well.
But every moment she would be in front of me, I felt the urge to start grinding and freaking and all that jazz. I've asked my friends that are girls that guys usually ask before doing that. However the question is usually, "Would you like to dance?". We were already dancing. So, I thought I'd try "bump" into her to initiate something. She just moved forward thinking that people were pushing me. I probably should've put my hands around her waist or something. I was definitely too scared to try because I really didn't want to fuck up. I was already having a good time with her as it is. I felt that I really was missing out on an opportunity, but I wasn't entirely sure. I didn't get the best of me and just kept dancing, and enjoyed myself just being around her.
Really great moments here and there. Smiling. Keeping energy levels at an all time high. And then, the rave ended. We went to each other and talked before our groups wanted to leave. She said that it was nice meeting me and that she had a great time. I just patted her on the head and I said me too with much enthusiasm. I felt really awkward about asking her number, so I just didn't.
We parted ways, and that was it. Slightly disappointed that I can't contact her in any way. But that's alright. That experience was fun, exciting, and we had an amazing time. So I thought, that's all that matters. Hopefully one day, I get to meet her again. And this time, with a slightly different ending.
TLDR; Went to a rave, danced my heart out, girl notices and became girl of the night, bad timing on asking for her number, at the end, we said we both had a good time, no number, parted ways. Still had an amazing time.
