Is my thought process correct here? (23M, 21F)

People spend way too much time worrying about texting. First of all, it's generally worthless as a form of communication. Until you've slept with a girl, less is more. You shouldn't feel pressured to "maintain attraction" with a girl through texting just because you won't see her in person for a week.

Secondly, the timing is completely pointless. I see so many rules about how you should X amount before texting her back, never text more than X times in a row, etc... This is not the fucking point. You're focusing on your phone and not the person.

Third, waiting around for a girl to initiate things is an exercise in futility. I've had plenty of female friends tell me about how they just don't text first. They want the guy to initiate. It doesn't mean she's interested. Don't get butthurt because she's not texting you first.

My advice: Wait until Monday. Double check the date. Don't mention picking her up. If she wants you to she'll ask. Don't make comments like "You better text me." It seems like you're seeking validation from her and it's incredibly needy. You're putting a very black and white choice -- text or don't text -- in front of her and it is an odd thing to do given she barely knows you.
