Okay so I'm in gr. 12 and went to my first ever semi formal. I have been working on inner game for some time and have made great confidence strides.

I joined sports teams to widen my social circle and skills. I do clubs too. I really just started slow, made a few friends here and there in gr. 11. Then in grade 12 I really focused on making sure I knew everyone even before I made a team. This led to captain positions on 3 of the 4 teams I joined. Looking to join more too! With my new experiences breaking the ice became the norm. I can introduce almost anyone.

This comfort with people has stilled any nerves others have speaking to me. So I put this into my daily life and it got me a date to a girls ask guys semi formal.

Now for what I learned tonight.

So I have never danced before and I went into the night just hoping for a good time and to learn (though I knew bend your knees and be on time). I watched some seduction dancing videos the night before but that was little help. The only trick I used was the one hand on her hip during a slow dance for 8 beats and then swapping. It felt comfortable for me, almost natural.

So it started off with the usual awards and food. Then all the kids that pre drank danced a bit. I kinda just watched and enjoyed myself. Their party bus came and they left for their after party. Then everyone, except my table and two others, got on the floor because a good song came on. I watched for half the song. Nobody sitting made a move. I saw some kids from sport and clubs and decided hell I'll join them. My table looked surprised. Well I was there to have fun.

So I could see that they were very comfy dancers, I had no clue. I watched, copied some moves till I was comfortable, then started combining the three I knew. Amazing, I was just letting loose. This went on for about an hour. I had a blast with them. Finally my table group got in the skirts of the dance floor. I stayed with my group, let them watch me have fun.

This worked really well because I took a 5 min break with them and multiple people commented how much fun I seemed to be having. Awe yiss. Then I joined my first group again, I really let go this time, used more learned moves and improvised. I felt best reception from random girls when my motions were the largest, okay cool. I also learned that I felt happiest when shaking my head and just feeling the beat, heat and movement, SCORE!

Slow danced at the end with my date and then regular danced with my table too. In was then getting one or two of them to loosen up and be more comfortable. Boy did I look alpha. Finally danced with the girl who looked like she was having the most fun from my group. Wow, did they (my friends) flock to us.

I'm glad I was able to be as comfortable as I was. Big thanks to the community, I made a fun night of what many friends had little in.

Now here are my questions, do I tell my date sorry I didn't dance much with her, but I had to learn a little, and she got a better dancer because of it?

How do you create a little more space on the floor? I was able to make sure I was always in the circle not to anyone's back.

And how do I reel a girl closer while slow dancing? My date kept a door distance, the fun one was really close. I'd like to control that distance, tips?
