Alright so I'll be the second to admit it, I'm a bit beta a lot of times, and let it come across. I've liked this girl for about a year now and never had the opportunity to really talk to her (beta), until this semester, she's in my math class. After the first class I asked her if she wanted to go out and study on friday (my only day off of work) and she said she had plans with her boyfriend, I said "Oh that's great! He can come with us!" and she laughed and said shed let me know. Long story short, we studied on friday but did more talking.

The entire time we were "studying" she had that twinkle in her eye. She asked me about my classes and how I was liking them so far, and I took the opportunity to steer the conversation towards showing her how her heart works (I'm a pre-med student that works in cardiac rehab, so it's my specialty), and that was obviously a hit, she scooted in really close and was initiating a lot of kino, so I suggested we should go to a movie, and to my surprise she responded with a very excited "Oh can we!?" and I knew I was going to have a great night!

The movie started at 7:15, so we went to the petco by the theatre to hangout for a bit before it started, I opened the door for her and put my arm around her on the way into the store with the excuse that it was cold outside (it was balls cold).

Anyways, skip to the movie, she insists on paying for herself, so I let her (I've found arguing over something like that, even though you're trying to be nice, is often counterproductive), we go to the theatre and it's packed, we have to sit in the front row. A bit later in the movie, we're still touching a lot (sharing the armrest, knees touching) and she complains about her neck being tired from looking up so much, so I put my arm around her and she puts her head on my shoulder. Magnifico!!

Now hear is where I shot myself in the foot, I ask "So I gotta know, is this a date?".... WTF was I thinking!? She gives me a weird look and says "No, I don't know you that well yet!", and I just go total beta from there. Regardless of that, we still have a great time, my arms were around her the whole movie and she was running her fingers up and down my arms the whole movie. Afterwards she even said she had way more fun that night than she would have with her "boyfriend" (not her boyfriend, "it's complicated" but boyfriend get's the idea across. Think open relationship. She tells me she doesn't want exclusivity with him). So It was a good night! However i've been totally outcome dependent ever since then, constantly trying to make plans to hangout, putting her on a pedastool, complimenting her, acting jealous of her "boyfriend", I even hinted that I wanted to replace him as a lame ass sort of joke, to which she referred to me as an "awesome friend", so I'm a little pissed that I got myself thrown in the friend zone, although I should have seen it coming! It's all my fault!!

I'm trying to figure out a smooth transition back to where I was. where in the past she's been blowing off her "boyfriend" to spend time with me, now she's blowing me off to spend time with her "boyfriend". My best plan right now is to just get her off the pedastool I put her on by not trying to make plans, etc, but I feel like that won't really do anything to get me out of the hole I dug myself.

I need good advice!! Does anybody have good advice!?
