I have too delicate of an ego to approach girls unless I'm hammered. How do I get OVER it?

You don't get over it and then approach. You get over it by approaching.

Let your ego get metaphorically kicked in the nuts. It's the only way to improve.

Just kidding- here’s what you do- approach, say something you know is stupid. Say something offensive even. Ask girls if they spit or swallow, ask them what their favourite flavour of bowling ball is, something you would never say.

Expect them to react poorly, though you’ll be surprised at what you can say in the right tone. You can call a beautiful girl ugly and they’ll like it if said in the right tone. But don’t expect success or failure, you’re going up to people and saying stupid shit, because stupid shit is fun.

Eventually it’ll be easier to go up and talk to people, because you won’t care. That’s why it’s easier when drunk- you don’t care. Not that you’re bored; you just don’t need to qualify or justify yourself.

If I may ask, why do you have a delicate ego? If there’s something you’re insecure about, maybe you can do something to change it? Is there a toxic person in your life making you feel inferior?

You have to mindfully perceive how your ego is creating fear for you. Just watch the thoughts that arise in these situations and do your best not to get caught up in them. Meditation would help a lot. Once you see that it's just a pattern of thoughts in your head it becomes easier to ignore that shit.

You can also ask yourself "when did I start caring what this girl thinks of me?".

Also don't feel so guilty when you mess up. Messing up is fun and its a part of life and if you're concerned with being the best at everything you're gonna have a bad time.

You have to force yourself to do it sober. Once you do it once, even if it's fucking terrible, you'll feel better. You have to keep doing it over and over, and soon enough, you'll develop somewhat of a social callous and you won't care anymore.

I remember when I first started approaching, if I got rejected, I would feel like someone punched me in the throat and would want to go home haha. Now, it doesn't even really mean much anymore. Yeah, I don't approach as much as I'd like, but when I get "rejected" it doesn't really affect me much.
