This is my first field report and I would appreciate all feedback that the community can give. So I went to a party with my friend and his cousin. We showed up a little bit later than we originally planned for but that was fine because it was a rager and was just getting started by the time we got there at 11:30ish. We get there and our DD leaves which is fine it just means that I have to carry around my beer with me which isn't ideal but hey no problem. Anyway I circle around a bit and say hey to the few people who are there that I know, I'm having a pretty good time with everything and figure that it's about time I started talking to girls. I go up to this HB9 say something like "hey I'm Heilspellcheck who are you?" and ignores me. It hurt my ego a bit but I don't dwell on it and continue on. Approach a HB8 and open with this, hoping she will try to validate herself to me "are you any good at beer pong? Yes? Come on" she follows me to the table but half way through explaining that we're next she just turns around and drifts back towards her friends. Obviously not interested, oh well. Next I approach a HB7 and ask her how old she is, because she looks twelve. A says that she's 18 and blah blah blah she's DDing for her friends. I try some slight Kino but am not all that interested even though she's one of the first ones to react positively that night. I don't end the interaction on a strong note but I still think it went well as I exit. Fast forward and I've approached a few more girls and the interactions have ranged from alright to flat out being blown out of the water. I'm a bit discouraged but I decide to amuse myself a bit with this line on someone I didn't care about "knock knock" who's there "ding dong ditch" and then I walk away. I laughed about it a bit and think I might try to use it in a better way in the future. Anyway I think that my main hold up is escalation. I'm getting over approach anxiety and it's not terribly hard for me to go up to anyone, although I still do justify not doing it to myself sometimes, I was not expecting to have a lot of luck but I wish I had been able to #close or k-close with someone. There's always next time I guess.
