I am a 22 year old guy who has absolutely no experience with girls. Never dated, never kissed, nothing. My social life is basically nonexistent. I have been trying to improve myself over the course of the past couple of years but I believe I have hit a wall, and could use some help.
My problem is motivation. There are things that I want in my life (not just revolving around women) but when I look at the mountain of things I have to do to get there I just lose hope. The thing is, I feel like I have to work so much harder than everyone else just to achieve the same results, and I absolutely hate and resent that.
I'll give you an example: say I want to go out to a club on a Friday night. For most people it's simple: shower, dress up, cologne, whatever. Then they go out and have fun. Easy. Except for me, there's a whole bunch of other baggage that goes along with that. In the hours leading up to me going out, I'm basically fighting with myself. I come up with every excuse possible: "I'm too tired", "I don't look good," "my hair is stupid", "I won't have fun anyways", etc. Whatever it might be, I'm incredibly conflicted. I know going out and socializing is another step towards getting where I want to be, but it feels like it's so much more work for me.
So let's say I get over my excuses and head out to the club. What happens then? Nothing. I go in and don't talk to anybody because the same process I just described above is now repeating itself: "None of these girls are attracted to me", "No point in dancing, I'll just embarrass myself", etc. Only this time, I've got no more energy left to fight these thoughts, having spent half a day at war with myself just over the process of getting to this point. So I kind of awkwardly hang out for half an hour then leave. I don't push myself because I have no more energy left to motivate myself.
Take the above and apply it to pretty much every other aspect of my self improvement. Just getting my ass out of the house takes so much more work than it does for the average person. Never mind talking to people to improve my social skills.
TL:DR version: I know what I have to do to improve myself in order to become a guy that women want to be with, but there's just too much to do and I'm not sure I have the ability to do it. Any thoughts?
