Long story short, I'm an exchange student in Germany. With that, I'm going to a normal German high school (Gymnasium). My German isn't real great, about good enough to talk about what my plans for the day are, ask for directions, and so on. Basic stuff.

Well, of course I'm having a really hard time making friends. For one, Germans aren't exactly warm cuddly people. Two, I'm not exactly the most outgoing person either. It's extremely hard, because I can't just act like I normally do and let stuff fall into place. I can't just crack jokes, do stupid shit, ect.

So the question is, how can I talk to people? Approaching, subjects, holding a conversation, ect.
