Well I think you haven't found the right girl that satisfies all of your subconscious requirements. Wanting to date the hottest girls is important because of genetics and status and stuff. But having a deep and meaningful relationship is also important, so I think you should seek the unicorn girl that satisfies both of these. That's the point of dating, to find people you enjoy being in relationships with and filter the ones you don't.

You're right, it is normal. You need to bang a hot chick, get over her shit and realize why "Show me a beautiful woman, and I’ll show you a man who’s tired of fucking her" is a thing. In your mind there is still a pedestal for beautiful women, this will only change with experience.
