A bit of a rant, but want to get some opinions!

You remind me of an article I read a while ago, entitled something like "Your eighteen-year-old self is still running your life." The middle-aged author talked about how he always hated going to bars and clubs. Then he realized, he had some bad experiences at clubs when he was young, so he just avoided them, and as he grew older, he never challenged his old assumptions. But now he is a totally different person than he was at age fifteen, when he formed a pattern that followed him throughout his life.

So he decided to test himself, to see if he still hated going to bars and clubs. He was surprised to find that if he could clear his thoughts about his old patterns, he really did enjoy socializing at bars and clubs. And he spent years of his life avoiding something he actually enjoyed, just because of some bad experiences he had, so long ago, that became a permanent habit.

Well you are still young enough that you are forming these patterns, so it is easier to break them, and even avoid falling into patterns that will make you unhappy over the long term.

Your post in seddit shows that you are questioning yourself, wondering why you are deliberately isolating yourself from other people. So ask yourself how you formed the patterns that isolate you. It wasn't just the positive feedback you got for creative activities like studying music. Lots of guys study music for years, by themselves, and go on to live in the limelight, getting fame and fortune playing in bands. Women throw themselves at guys like this.

No, it must have been some negative things that happened to you. Otherwise you would not declare you HATE social situations. I encourage you to consider why you formed that opinion. Try to change it before it changes the direction of your life, permanently.

As you grow up, you will find that you have to do a lot of things you don't want to do, in order to get the things you really want. That is the unpleasant reality of adult life. It can be difficult to come to terms with this, and it is a problem that never really goes away, unless you deal with it.

As for the issues of seduction, I personally don't go to bars and clubs, I don't like that scene. But I am way older than you. And despite my dislike for the bar scene, when I first started to seriously work on PUA skills, I went out to bars and clubs almost every night, for weeks. It took a lot of effort, and a lot of humiliating failures. But it's the fastest way to learn the skills you need. And now I have skills to use in my daily life, on any women I might encounter.
