I recently graduated college, and I’m assisting a professor in teaching a small class. I’m not your typical teaching assistant (T.A.), and I have no power in grading. My role is between a T.A. and a tutor.

There’s a girl in this class, and she might have a crush on me. She’s graduating soon and planning to go to law school. She likes to make small talks with me and asks questions about my future plans.

I try not to have personal conversations with her because it could negatively affect my professional and academic reputations. When she talks to me during class I’m always worried that the professor will look at me wrongly and report to my supervisor. At the same time, I don’t want her to think that I am not interested. I want to converse with her more and get to know who she really is. The class is ending in two weeks. Perhaps I should wait?
