TILTIFU (Today I Learned That I Fucked Up)

I've been a quiet lurker on this subreddit for months, and I decided that what happened today was worthy of a post, and a lesson for everyone.

Just to give you some background, I'm a senior in high school who finally had a first awesome opportunity with a girl who was really hot (especially considering that I made absolutely no effort to get her). After talking for quite some time and having things going so well, I decided it was time to seal the deal.

So here's where it all fell apart. My friend and I are talking at the end of the day, only for him to tell me that I've been friend-zoned 100%. He goes on to tell me that she approached him telling him that she wants to make sure I never ask her to do anything because she wouldn't want to reject a best friend of hers. That was painful just to type.

So while I have little to no actual experience in the world of dating, I have been reading and learning game for around 2 years now. The reason being, AA still has me in its grips pretty tightly. So when this no fail opportunity came up, I was sure it was in the bag. So for those of you lurkers (or anyone for that matter) out there in a similar situation where they've been talking with a girl for a while, check yourself before you friend-zone yourself.

So here's where I'm going to shed some light on what I should've done but failed to do, and where you can learn from a fellow Sedditors mistake: • Oneitis is a terrible thing. If you ever feel yourself becoming too close or enthralled by a girl, back away and explore your other options because who knows when she'll decide to head off.

• Second, BE SURE TO ESCALATE QUICKLY! As soon as you see her displaying IOIs, act on them and make the move. Sure, you could get rejected, but it's much better that you made the move and found out, then waited a month and a half like I did only to get thrown in the dreaded "zone".

• And lastly, make your intentions clear! If you act as if you're just two people who like to talk to each other, then that's exactly what you'll become. MAKE YOUR INTENTIONS CLEAR AND ACT ON THEM! If you don't you'll be in the same boat I am. And believe me, it sucks.
