As the title says, I've pretty much lost interest in a girl that I really liked. It seems to have happened overnight or at least it seems that way. Also note that we are friends.
We went on two dates in one month (we both work in consulting - no free time) that went really well. She's a really awesome girl and I was stoked to take her on both dates. Things never really progressed beyond a kiss on the cheek.
Last week I was planning on what to do for our 3rd date but then it suddenly dawned on me, "Why the fuck am I thinking so much & investing so much energy into something that hasn't even happened yet? I haven't even asked her yet." I also figure that since she's not initiating anything, hugs me like a friend, is reserved/keeps comments neutral that she's not into me and would rather be friends. She does inquire about other girls that I've been on dates with in the past, not sure if that means anything.
I've hit this point where I'm like fuck it I'm cool with being friends and if the fire lights up again then that's great, but I'm not going to pout over something not working out. Maybe I'll cut contact for a few weeks then hit her up?
I'm not dating anyone else, but have made a solid group of female friends (not single) who are fun and introduce me to their friends. They are ok with me being playful and give me that basic female attention I crave, saying my name, touching my arm, holding my arm when we walk, etc without crossing any lines. Maybe I've developed the "abundance mentality"?
