Some pickup gurus say no, but in real life all the guys I know who attract beautiful girls have good style. It takes about the same time to buy a well-fitting trendy jacket as an out-of-date ratty one...

Not the most important thing for sure, but an important clue that shows women you are "in touch" to your social environment, and able to present yourself as a high status man she wants to be seen with.

Taking care of how you present yourself is one way self esteem manifests itself usually. I don't think it's a self esteem issue to care about style as long as it doesn't turn into an endless shopping obsession like some people treat it.

it always depends on what type of girl you are trying to attract. Would having style hurt your chances? most likely not. I would also believe in most cases, style could only improve your chances unless your style is wearing tracksuits all day.
