Its not very difficult actually, despite it looking complicated from an outside perspective. I managed to figure it out on my first try I think. You pretty much just close your eyes, press your lips together, and suck on them very slightly. If you're making out you just release your lips and place them back over and over.
PS If you feel awkward kissing someone then you shouldn't kiss them!
