The other night, while out on the town with a buddy, I think I re-stoked some sparks with a girl I met (via our mutual friend, afore-mentioned buddy) in autumn of last year. It felt pretty terrific!

Sort of backstory: You see, after initially meeting, this girl (I'll call her Maria) texted back and forth quite a bit via FB and had some good vibes going. I asked her out a couple of times, but she was busy on the days I mentioned. I didn't care too much I kept up the chatting anyway. At one point, I tried again, noting that I'd be performing with a dance troupe at a local speakeasy-ish event. She took me up and met me there after my performance (I performed at the very beginning) where we hung out in the balcony of the theater, sipping old-timey cocktails and making smartcracks at the subsequent acts.

Following that encounter, we went out again to a local pub, where I initiated her in pool and got my ass kicked (I was a little sloppy and I'm not that good myself). We continued to text on a fairly frequent basis but didn't really meet up again.

Until the other night.

The day beforeI had hit up our mutual friend (I'll call him Rick), and he invited me to join him in a volunteer activity he was engaging in. Afterwards, we went out for drinks and chatted it up with some friends of his at this one bar. I was having the time of my life talking about whatever. I'm a fairly extroverted person and just felt like I was clicking on all cylinders.

Then, Rick decided to move onto a second venue after those friends left. And whaddya know? Who does he say we're going to meet up with other than Maria and her sister (we'll call her Anna).

When we get there, Maria and Anna were sitting in a booth and we sat down with them, me next to Maria, him next to Anna. I chatted up Maria a little, asking her about her day and such. She seemed somewhat tired and a little quiet, so I didn't press too hard. Her sister, on the other hand, is the life of the party and she and I and Rick engaged in some lively banter and conversation. During the course of conversation, Anna mentioned how Maria had eaten a bunch of tacos and was crop dusting everyone earlier in the evening. I made a comment like, "Oh gross! Let's get out the gas masks and prepare for the biological weaponry!" and Anna responded with, better not stick your nose anywhere near her butt. Maria replied, "I'm sure he'd be more than happy to do that!" Then, Anna asked if we'd dated and I replied with a yes and left it at that.

At a certain point, Maria got up and sat in an adjoining booth with a pair of friends who walked in. I just continued on chit chatting. Anna referred to her sister as "she's being a bitch" a couple of times for walking away. I didn't care. Anna was a total hoot and Rick is always a lively conversational partner and I was having a blast regardless.

Later, Anna insisted that we all go play shuffleboard. Maria joined us and I continued on as I had been, trying a little more pull with Maria again. We were paired up on opposite teams and I kept giving her a hard time for her bad shots and she did the same.

After the night was over, I texted her noting it was fun to see her and that her sister was a total riot. Maria replied, "She's crazy. She was telling me to have my babies with you because you seem like you'd be a great dad. LOL." We bantered off of that a little, where I said that I thought I had decent paternal skills, which she questioned, with a haha.

Today, she sent me a random text that she had a dream about me.

Anyways, not giving a shit about outcomes and being my normal, playful self was fun and I'm liking the feeling of being chased.
