Anyone have any pointers? I find this group challenging because they don't get to lead the most satisfying, adventurous life which is easily how I connect...

Any decent single mother's life revolves around their kids.... If you aren't willing to talk about their kids then it's unlikely you will ever overcome the challenge.

Maybe you are coming across as a lover instead of a provider. Maybe they want more of a baby daddy type?

They are still human beings, they can talk about anything.... They have a past with lots of experiences, they eat food, watch movies, they have had adventurous but those adventures probably involve something that involves children or just doesn't involve getting really drunk and partying etc.

You might have to show your more mature and responsible side to connect with a single mother. Single mothers also tend to have a longer and more subtle screening process e.g. becoming friends first, then building trust and attraction before making your move. No single mother wants to risk having more kids with more men who aren't going to be a part of their life for long.

Not every single mother is the same, just speaking based on my experience.
