hey reddit dating community, I come for some help.

(I'm 19, male)

I met a v cute girl while I was working an openair festival. we talked a bit, hit off really well, before she left we exchanged numbers and she texted me that same night an hour later or so. we texted a bit for a day, and I wanted to make a conscious effort to make a personal, engaged and ultimately "different" (at least in the dating-meta where I live), so I called her the next day, with no warning. she picked up and it was received really well and we talked for a while, good times etc. we talked again over phone the next day and she said we could meet on monday (today), which is great and all, we're getting along etc. etc. cringe cringe... anyhow, she now asked if we could go out a different time, she's having some personal/family related problems on her mind and she doesn't feel good about seeing me with such things on her mind. that wouldn't really be a problem if she wasn't leaving for a 5 week holiday tomorrow, and we all know that the 2016 dating game is unforgiving as shit and gives you no more than 10 days to make an impression and meet up with someone. I was going fairly strong before this.

So the fact aside that I'm a bit tilted about this because I was really looking forward to tonight, what am I going to do? I'm waiting a bit to reply because I'm a bit stirred up right now and would probably drop this entire thing right now because this is not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last, but that's not really fair towards her and she really is great.

I feel like in 5 weeks I'll already be forgotten even if we'd schedule something for when she gets back. how do I try to stay relevant in a situation where I a.) can't be calling her since she'll be out of the country and I'm not rich b.) won't be able to text/whatsapp her consistently due to limited WiFi availability? (I mean hey honestly I think if you're traveling you should leave your phone out of it as much as you can, so nobody to fault here, just stating how I see it)

thanks a lot for reading my post, sorry if I sound whiney I'm genuinely a bit disappointed!
