I'll start off saying I've always been relatively popular in middle school and high school but still always too shy for my own good. I knew a ton of people and had awesome friends but I just never felt like I was good with girls or just interacting in general.
Today was college for me. I made it a point to not just try pickup, but be more of a social being. It's for my better good since its so important in life nowadays.
My first class, I made friends with the guy I sat next to. Major point is to always sit next to someone in class you want to be friends with. This time I just chose randonly but I always open with something like "hey you mind if I sit here?" And people are nice enough. We talked and exchanged contact information. I'm a dude and I'm not gay but I feel like it's important to interact with as many people as possible, not only to feel more comfortable talking to people but for networking as well
Next class I sat right in the middle of two girls. Opened with the same line and we were good. Made some small talk here and there. Didn't get either number but I wasn't physically attracted to them plus I'd see them another day anyway.
Last class of the day, I sat with a friend I already knew. On the other side was a girl I didnt find attractive but did keep talking to me. She asked a lot of questions about the work we were doing. Maybe she just wanted conversation or maybe she is just one of those ppl that really need to discuss in order to learn. The thing I take away from this perhaps is I think my confidence is shining. I've dressed better than in high school and I did a lot of inner game improvements over the summer. I've also started /r/nofap because I feel it would help with not wanting to hump every girl I see. I think it has helped a lot.
Somewhere in the middle of my classes, I came across an attractive girl from high school. She previously called me cute but our flirts were mostly jokes and I don't think anything came out of it. We walked and chatted and had a decent 5 minute catchup. I got her number (again) but don't plan to date her since I was pretty much one of the guys from /r/cringepics even though I'm sure she found me attractive at one point in time.
Conclusion: I've seen a lot of progress today. I love how social and carefree I was able to be. I'm sure my past self would not have engaged in discussions with the guy from class 1, or have gotten the number from the girl from high school, or have sat next to two girls in class. But I felt almost 0 anxiousness doing any of those. Feel free to give me advice or ask questions if yu have any.
