Hello all, I would say I consider myself an average looking guy but sometimes lack the confidence to approach a girl in public and ask for her number. I don't know what to say and when I do approach it sounds so canned and uncomfortable. I've only had one girl give me her number and we dated for a while before I cut it off. Other than that they told me they had boyfriend's. Not sure if it was a lie.

Anyways what can I do to do better? What were your results with approaching women?-- and just in case you're wondering I'm going to a bar alone tonight just to socialise with people, so that's a first step.
