As far as trying to figure out what really happened... You didn't ask so you'll never know. If this happened to me, I would have just been honest. She asks for my age and i give her my age. But I would have said "What do you want?" I went to a bar recently and immediately talked to 2 women. One said a guy had just talked to them and lied about his age. They asked me how old I was and I pulled out my driver's license so she could see it. She didn't even look at it. She was so happy about my honesty, she gave me a high five and handed my license back to me.
