From my experience, many of the attractive girls at bars/clubs are with men. I approach anyway (as a lot of pua literature says to) but have never been received warmly. The guys aren't necessarily assholes, but they make it clear I should leave -- and I don't blame them.

I'm relatively new to ~the game~ and I've had increasingly positive experiences chatting up chicks. But almost always the ones I'm interested in have some sort of dude barrier. Thus, my options seem quite limited, even at popular bars.

So, are there any general guidelines for when it's appropriate/worth it to approach a mixed group, given the 4 scenarios listed below? Any tips from experience?
